If you were a horse, would you be shot?

“If I were a horse, I would be shot.”

– My sister’s friend

One of my sister’s friends said this to her, I would hope as a joke and not a genuine expression of despair.

(She has quite a few health problems)

Acknowledging the fact that that is really quite sad, it cracked me up.

And I wondered: If I were a horse, would I be shot?

These are some of the reasons a horse would be shot:

In general, is there any condition, injury, or illness that compromises their quality of their life in the long term?

Thankfully at this point in my life, the answer is no – although I do have to watch that muscle loss. Can’t be having that.

If you were a horse, would you be shot?

Asking yourself this question is a great way to get a flyover evaluation of your health.

If the answer is no you’re probably okay to carry on as you are. At the very least you would make note of things that could potentially become problems and need attention now.

If on the other hand, you would in fact be shot, it might be time to make some changes to address the root cause.
